One of two teens connected to a 2023 armed robbery at Twin Pines Mobile Home Park in Goshen has been sentenced in Elkhart County Circuit Court.

Eduardo Rueda received a five-year sentence for robbery with three years suspended to probation.

The case stems from a February 2023 robbery involving a 16-year-old victim who had advertised a PlayStation 5 for sale on Instagram.

Court records say Rueda arranged the meeting, while co-defendant Johnathan Martinez arrived in a truck, pointed a gun at the victim, and took the console.

Martinez was later sentenced to 12 years for armed robbery. During sentencing, attorneys argued rehabilitation versus punishment.

The Goshen News says the judge ordered Rueda to serve two years in the Department of Corrections, citing the seriousness of the crime but acknowledging his progress since the offense.
