Data center rumors bring massive turnout during Fulton County Commissioners meeting

A big crowd showed up Tuesday night at the county commissioners meeting over rumors a data center might come to Akron.
People wanted answers after hearing land rules had already changed, and it didn’t help that Governor Mike Braun mentioned Fulton County as a possible spot.
Most people said the community hasn’t been asked and doesn’t want it.
One local utility leader said a data center could bring money to the area. The commissioners said no company has reached out yet, and the governor’s office hasn’t either.
Commission President David Sommers said nothing is planned, but he’s open to it and sees why some people think it could help.
