Elkhart County’s tourism and hospitality industry continues to show strong momentum, according to newly released data from the Indiana Destination Development Corporation.
The report on 2024 economic performance shows visitor spending in Elkhart County increased 6.4 percent compared to 2023, outpacing the statewide growth rate. Overall, Elkhart County ranked 11th among Indiana’s 92 counties for total visitor spending.
The statewide analysis was conducted by Rockport Analytics, an independent market research and consulting firm specializing in economic impact and feasibility studies for the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries. The study was commissioned by the Indiana Destination Development Corporation.
Local tourism leaders point to continued strong performance into 2025, highlighted by the return of the annual Quilt Gardens free public exhibition, along with a packed schedule of events, festivals, and concerts. Major attractions included Celebration Under the Stars in downtown Elkhart and a growing arts and culture scene that continues to draw both residents and visitors.
Officials say the sustained growth reflects Elkhart County’s diverse attractions and strong community support for cultural and tourism-driven events.
