LaSalle Grill to close after nearly 35 years

Just weeks after the closure of Tippecanoe place, another longitme downtown restaurant is closing its doors.
LaSalle Grill on West Colfax Avenue for nearly 35 years is closing.
The South Bend Tribune reports Wednesday was the restaurant’s final day in business. Owner Mark McDonnell opened LaSalle Grill back in 1991. He turned the business over to his daughter in 2021.
LaSalle Grill is one of only four restaurants in the South Bend area to earn AAA’s prestigious Four Diamond rating. LaSalle Kitchen and Tavern – the gastropub located upstairs – had already announced a temporary closure late last year. Its future is now uncertain.
