The Berrien County Prosecutor’s Office has charged 26-year-old Noah Ditchie in connection with a shooting Monday night at a rest area along westbound Interstate 94 in Watervliet Township.
Ditchie is charged with assault with intent to murder and felony firearm and is being held at the Berrien County Jail on a $1 million bond.
Authorities say a 34-year-old man was shot around 7:12 p.m. and transported to Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say additional charges have been filed in connection with a separate case involving a 37-year-old man from Cicero, Illinois, who reported being the victim of a carjacking and assault. That investigation remains ongoing.
