IMPD officer charged for illegal hunting

A ten-year veteran of the Indianapolis Police Department  has been stripped of his police powers after being charged with illegal hunting.
Officer Aaron Mauk is accused of harvesting three deer in Steuben County without a license and providing false information to a check station.
Chief Terry placed Mauk on administrative duty Friday following a criminal investigation and internal reviews.
The case remains under investigation by the Steuben County Prosecutor’s Office.
