Elkhart Police investigate stabbing on North 6th Street

Police in Elkhart are investigating a stabbing that happened late Friday night on the city’s north side.

Officers were called just before 9 p.m. on March 28 to the 100 block of North 6th Street after a report of a fight. While en route, dispatchers received additional information suggesting a possible shooting victim tied to the incident.

When officers arrived, they determined no shooting had occurred, but a male victim had been stabbed.

Medics with the Elkhart Fire Department transported the victim to a nearby hospital. Police say the injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Several individuals were detained at the scene as officers continue their investigation. No further details have been released.
