A Michigan man has been sentenced to prison for sexually abusing a minor at a Fort Wayne hotel in 2009.

According to court records, Shane Frost contacted the victim in February 2024 to apologize, writing, quote, “I am so so very sorry that I have hurt you.”

Investigators say the abuse began when the victim was 12 years old and occurred in St. Joseph and Elkhart counties before culminating in an assault at a Fort Wayne hotel.

On Friday, Frost was sentenced to 23 years in prison.

He also faces a separate child molesting case in Elkhart County and is scheduled to go to trial in August.
