Congressman Marlin Stutzman among witnesses to White House dinner shooting scare

Leaders in Indiana and Michigan are reacting after a shooting disrupted the White House Correspondents’ Dinner Saturday night.

U.S. Representative Marlin Stutzman said he was inside the Washington Hilton when gunfire erupted just feet away.

In a Facebook post, Stutzman said the shots were fired roughly 50 to 75 feet from his table as the event was getting underway.

In interviews with media outlets, he described the moment as sudden and chaotic, saying attendees had just begun eating when three to four shots rang out.

Stutzman said he immediately recognized the sound as gunfire, and guests quickly ducked under tables while security responded.

Authorities say the suspect was taken into custody and officials were safely evacuated.

The annual event was ultimately postponed following the incident.

Someone needs to tell Mr Stutzman that voting for mass amnesty is not going to prevent them from shooting at him. Grow a spine, take a stand, Sir.
