Middlebury woman sentenced for crash injuring pedestrian

A Middlebury woman has been sentenced after a crash that seriously injured a pedestrian.

The Goshen News reports Kaila Himes was driving on U.S. 20 in January 2023 when her vehicle left the road and struck a man as he checked his mailbox.

Himes tested positive for THC and told police she had a vape pen. The man suffered several serious injuries.

Himes was sentenced to five years, with three suspended to probation.
