More than 20 people inside the county jail got sick with food poisoning symptoms, and no one knows why yet.
Jail medical staff treated 23 inmates last Wednesday after they started showing similar symptoms. County and state health teams stepped in and collected samples, but results are still pending.
The jail kitchen had been inspected just days earlier and passed, with only a couple minor issues-standing water on the floor and some mold on racks inside a cooler.
Right now, they’re waiting on test results to figure out what caused it.
