Officials with Newton Park announced that the park’s playground has been closed indefinitely because of ongoing behavioral problems.
In a social media statement, park officials cited bullying, violence, destruction of property, and repeated rule violations as reasons for the closure.
Officials said the decision was made to protect the safety of families and children who use the park.
The playground will remain closed until officials determine that appropriate measures can be put in place to address the issues.
Park officials apologized to families affected by the closure and thanked community members who continue to respect the facility.
