31-year-old arrested following months-long narcotics investigation

A months-long narcotics investigation in Berrien County ended with the seizure of 50 pounds of crystal methamphetamine and the arrest of a 31-year-old suspect following a pursuit on Thursday, May 21.
Authorities said the investigation led deputies to a suspected drug transaction involving a supplier. Investigators allege the suspect fled after meeting with the supplier, prompting a vehicle pursuit.
Police said the chase ended on U.S. 31 after deputies deployed stop sticks to disable the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect then allegedly fled on foot before being taken into custody roughly eight hours later on Friday, May 22.
Investigators said approximately 50 pounds of crystal methamphetamine was recovered from the suspect’s vehicle.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, faces charges including fleeing and eluding police, resisting and obstructing police, and possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine.
