A Hobart man was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison after admitting to drug trafficking and illegally possessing firearms.
Thirty-seven-year-old Justin Ring received 168 months behind bars, followed by five years of supervised release.
Prosecutors said Ring sold high-purity meth in the Michigan City area during late 2024. During a January 2025 traffic stop, officers reportedly found hundreds of grams of methamphetamine, along with fentanyl, cocaine, and a hidden 9-millimeter handgun inside his vehicle.
Investigators later searched Ring’s hotel room and recovered more drugs, another firearm, and packaging materials.
Federal officials called Ring a dangerous armed drug trafficker.
