The LaPorte County deputy shot inside a Michigan City hospital is continuing to recover and making progress.
An update shared on Deputy John Samuelson’s CaringBridge page says he has started physical and occupational therapy and is “more than ready” for it.
People across the community have been raising money and showing support for him during his recovery. Earlier this week, Warriors Oath of Plymouth held a motorcycle ride that brought in donations for Samuelson.
Organizers say more than 380 motorcycles and about 1,000 people took part, raising more than $12,000.
The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office has created wristbands that say “Sammy Strong.”
