Downtown South Bend, Inc. has rescheduled its June First Fridays: Kids’ Night Out event after severe weather forced organizers to postpone the original June 5 celebration.
The family-friendly event will now take place on Saturday, June 13, with a rain date of Sunday, June 14.
Organizers announced that Kids’ Night Out will be combined with Movies on the Gridiron, creating an expanded evening of entertainment in downtown South Bend. The block party will run from 5 to 9 p.m. on the 100 and 200 blocks of Michigan Street, while a free outdoor screening of Zootopia 2 will continue the festivities until 11 p.m.
Downtown South Bend officials say the combined event is expected to be one of the largest family-oriented gatherings offered downtown this season.
Additional programming details are expected to be announced in the coming days.
The event is free and open to the public. Downtown South Bend officials thanked sponsors, vendors, partners, and community members for their flexibility and understanding, noting that the safety of attendees, performers, and staff remains the top priority when weather-related decisions are made.
