The LaPorte County Drug Task Force recovered three firearms and made four arrests during a recent enforcement effort tied to reports of a large gathering of teenagers at the Michigan City beach.
The initiative, known as Operation Safe Shore, was conducted in response to concerns surrounding a so-called “teen takeover” event and focused on maintaining public safety at the beach and surrounding areas.
Authorities said detectives worked throughout the event to identify criminal activity and enforce state and local laws.
Task Force officials said the operation resulted in the seizure of three firearms and four arrests. Additional details regarding the arrests and any criminal charges are expected to be released through the court process.
Law enforcement agencies from multiple jurisdictions participated in the operation as part of ongoing efforts to address public safety concerns in LaPorte County.
