Special Olympics athletes to get police escort out of town for Indiana Summer Games

The St. Joseph County Police Department will escort local Special Olympics athletes out of town this week, as they make their way to the Indiana Summer Games in Terre Haute.
They will meet at Marian High School around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, and will leave around 6 p.m.
Police will utilize lights and sirens to grab some attention and highlights the athletes’ accomplishments.
Their route will be south on Logan Street, west on Dragoon Trail, south on Ironwood Drive and onward to the U.S. 20 bypass.
