A South Bend man has been sentenced to federal prison on a methamphetamine trafficking conviction.

Thirty-seven-year-old Steven Briones received 32 months behind bars and two years of supervised release after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Investigators intercepted two postal packages containing thousands of pressed methamphetamine pills and later found additional drugs during a search of Briones’ home.

Federal prosecutors credited postal inspectors and local law enforcement agencies for helping remove the drugs from the community.
