A high-visibility enforcement operation by the Indiana State Police Friday night resulted in dozens of arrests and citations across South Bend.

Troopers from the Indiana State Police Bremen Post and Toll Road Post conducted a Wolfpack Patrol from 8 p.m. Friday, June 12, until about 3 a.m. Saturday. The operation focused on traffic enforcement, impaired driving and criminal interdiction.

The patrol included assistance from K-9 units from the Peru District, the ISP DES Interdiction Team and the Indiana State Police Aviation Section.

During the operation, troopers issued 75 traffic citations and 114 warnings. They also arrested or cited 15 drivers for driving while suspended, made nine operating while intoxicated arrests, 26 drug arrests and three warrant arrests.

Overall, the patrol resulted in 38 criminal defendants, including 59 misdemeanor arrests and 16 felony arrests. Seventeen people were booked into jail. Troopers also assisted seven stranded motorists and responded to three requests for assistance from other law enforcement agencies.

Separately, Indiana State Police investigators, with assistance from the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Police Department, conducted an operation targeting the solicitation of prostitutes. During that investigation, officers identified a victim of human trafficking and connected her with support services.
