A LaGrange woman has pleaded guilty to causing serious bodily injury while operating a vehicle intoxicated.

24-year-old Kaila Himes admitted guilt in connection with a January 2023 crash in Middlebury that seriously injured a pedestrian.

Investigators say Himes drove off U.S. 20 and struck the man while he was checking his mailbox.

Police reported signs of impairment, and testing later showed THC in her system.

The Goshen News says the man suffered multiple serious injuries. Himes is scheduled to be sentenced August 13. SOQ
