The City of Mishawaka will begin another effort to relocate Canada geese as officials try to manage a growing population in parks, neighborhoods, and public spaces.

City leaders say they’ve tried a variety of non-lethal deterrents, including K-9 patrols, decoys, fencing, lasers, and noise devices, but the goose population continues to grow.

A state-approved wildlife contractor will handle the relocation under Indiana DNR guidelines.

Officials say the move is intended to reduce property damage, water quality concerns, and aggressive behavior during nesting season.
