A chase, involving a stolen SUV, ended in a crash in Elkhart.

According to the Elkhart Police Department, the owner of the stolen SUV says a man stole it just before 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21.

Police say they tracked the SUV because there was an AirTag in there.

When officers spotted the SUV at a gas station near Osolo Road and County Road 6, that is when they say they started chasing it.

Police deployed stop sticks and blew a tire, which is when the driver lost control and hit a house.

The suspect was thrown out of the vehicle and was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

Officers say no one else was injured.
