A Goshen man suffered minor injuries after a vehicle left the roadway and struck his riding lawn mower in Elkhart County.

The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 31, near 63652 County Road 15.

Investigators say a 61-year-old Elkhart woman was driving a Chrysler 300 north on County Road 15 when an unidentified southbound vehicle reportedly crossed the center line. The woman swerved to avoid the oncoming vehicle, causing her vehicle to leave the road and lose control.

The Chrysler struck a riding lawn mower being operated by a 74-year-old Goshen man in a nearby yard, throwing him from the mower.

The mower operator was taken to Goshen General Hospital with minor injuries, including complaints of leg pain.

The driver of the Chrysler was not injured.

The unidentified vehicle left the scene, and the crash remains under investigation.
