Four taken into custody after Cass County drug investigation

Four people were arrested early Friday, Aug. 7, after a drug investigation at a home in Cass County.

The Cass County Drug Enforcement Team, assisted by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and Van Buren County K-9 Charlie, executed a search warrant around 12:04 a.m. Friday at a residence in the 50,000 block of Green Lake Street in Wayne Township.

During the search, detectives say they recovered approximately 1.7 grams of methamphetamine along with multiple items of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities arrested a 71-year-old woman on allegations of maintaining a drug house and possession of methamphetamine. A 51-year-old woman, a 44-year-old man and a 45-year-old man were also arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine.

The suspects’ names have not been released pending their arraignments in Cass County’s 4th District Court.
