One person was taken to the hospital after being rescued from Lake Michigan at Silver Beach.

It happened on Saturday, Aug. 8.

Berrien County Sheriff Chuck Heit tells WSBT that the St. Joseph Department of Public Safety responded to the beach after receiving a report of someone needing help in the water.

The person was pulled from the lake and transported to a hospital.

Officials have not released additional information about the person’s condition.
