September trial set for Elkhart man accused of killing relative’s molester

An Elkhart man facing charges in the killing of a man who molested a family member will be facing a trial in september.

At a status hearing Thursday morning, Nicholas Stanley requested a delay in his trial to find a new defense attorney.

His request was denied and he’ll face trial on September 21st.

Police say Stanley shot and killed Allen Cogswell in June in 2025.
