Former Elkhart County corrections officer jailed

A former Elkhart County corrections officer has been jailed after a stabbing that left a woman hospitalized.
Police were called to a home on Martin Manor Drive around 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 24, where a 68-year-old woman told officers she had been stabbed several times.
She was flown to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for treatment.
76 year-old Larry Peterson of Goshen who is a former corrections officer, was arrested on a charge of domestic battery with a deadly weapon.
He is being held without bond pending his initial court hearing.
