St. Joseph County Council members propose ban on data centers

Four Republican members of the St. Joseph County Council are proposing a ban on new hyperscale data centers.
Joe Thomas, Amy Drake, Randy Figg and Andy Rutten filed a resolution directing the Area Plan Commission to amend the county’s zoning ordinance.
The measure is also supported by Republican council candidate Jamie O’Brien.
A council vote is scheduled for late September.
