A Walkerton woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash on State Road 104.

LaPorte County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 7000 block of East State Road 104 at about 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sep. 5, for a reported crash.

Investigators determined a blue 2017 Chevrolet passenger vehicle was traveling eastbound when, for an unknown reason, it left the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver, 42-year-old Irene J. Pantle of Walkerton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Toxicology results are pending and the crash remains under investigation.
