A Goshen man was hurt in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 33 south of Goshen.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office says the 69-year-old driver was trying to pass several vehicles at a high speed on Wednesday afternoon, Sep. 9, when he lost control of his Ford Mustang near County Road 42.

Investigators say the car left the road, hit a fence and then struck a tree. The driver was trapped in the vehicle and was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with injuries to his head, arms and legs.

The investigation is continuing.
