A 20-year-old Elkhart County man is facing multiple charges following an alleged domestic disturbance and high-speed chase early September 5.
Elkhart Police say officers were called to the Love’s Travel Stop on County Road 17, where the suspect allegedly strangled a woman during an argument.
Police say he then drove away in a pickup truck, leading officers on a chase that reached speeds of up to 110 miles an hour. Investigators say the truck went through yards, hit mailboxes and damaged a utility pole before becoming stuck in a ditch.
The suspect was arrested without incident. He is charged with strangulation, resisting law enforcement, auto theft, OWI endangerment and leaving the scene of an accident.
