A man living in Indianapolis is accused of creating sexual videos of children with artificial intelligence.

Luis Martinez is facing 10 counts of child exploitation after investigators said they found around 40,000 images and videos on Martinez’s devices or accounts tied to him, with many of them containing possible child exploitation.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office officially filed the charges against Martinez on Tuesday. He has been held in the Marion County jail without bond since Thursday.

An investigation into Martinez began in May after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a tip from xAI, the AI company owned by Elon Musk, about suspicious material. The tip stated that a user, later identified as Luis Martinez, used the Grok AI app to create and upload child sexual abuse material.

While looking into Martinez more, investigators discovered that he had made several disturbing searches online. Some of the searches included the words “ageplay,” “pervert,” “ped,” and “naked.”

Martinez initially told police that the images he created using Grok AI were of random people. Officers said he later admitted to knowing some of the victims.

Police have contacted multiple people identified as victims in this case. Some are adults, but others are kids.

Martinez was arrested last week during a traffic stop conducted by IMPD officers. He is expected to appear in court sometime this week.
