People across Michiana are gathering on Friday to remember those killed in the Sept. 11 attacks.

The annual Ringing of the Bell ceremony starts at 9 a.m. at St. Patrick’s County Park. A 21-mile memorial walk also starts at 9:11 a.m. at Martin’s in Erskine Plaza. The walk represents a 21-gun salute and ends at the 9/11 Memorial at St. Patrick’s County Park. Walkers should arrive by 8:30 a.m.

Other ceremonies include a memorial at St. Joseph’s Mishawaka Medical Center at 10:28 a.m., a stair run by St. Joseph County police at Penn High School at 8:46 a.m., a remembrance in Benton Harbor at 11 a.m., and a flag display in downtown Elkhart at 5:30 p.m.
