Indiana State Police are investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting following a police pursuit in White and Pulaski counties.

Investigators say the incident began around 1:30 Wednesday afternoon in Monon, where an officer responding to a disturbance spotted a Chevrolet Colorado believed to be connected to the incident.

The truck headed into Pulaski County, where officers deployed a tire-deflation device on State Road 14. Despite the device striking the vehicle, the driver continued toward Winamac.

The pursuit ended near Monticello and 15th streets. Police say the driver got out of the truck armed with a gun, and both the driver and an officer fired shots.

The driver was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead.

The investigation remains underway.
