For the first time in years, the public will get a look inside the International Proving Grounds in western St. Joseph County.
The 675-acre facility near Bendix Woods is celebrating 100 years of testing vehicles.
Studebaker built the proving grounds in 1926.
Today, engineers test everything from safety features like automatic braking to school bus durability before vehicles hit the road. Officials say the goal is to find problems before those vehicles reach dealerships.
