An Elkhart County man accused in the death of a 20-month-old child will stand trial November 16.

That stands, even if he hires a new attorney.

Miguel Garcia is accused in the December 2024 death of the child, who suffered a fatal skull fracture and other injuries.

His defense team says it is prepared for trial and has an expert witness ready.

The Goshen News says another status conference is scheduled for November 5.
