(95.3 MNC)
A 19-year-old Elkhart man was hospitalized after a rollover crash south of Elkhart.
The crash happened around 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, at County Road 9 and County Road 28, about two miles south of the city limits.
Investigators say the driver was traveling south on County Road 9 at a high speed and failed to stop at the intersection. The 2011 Toyota Corolla entered the gravel shoulder, and the driver lost control while attempting to correct the vehicle’s path.
The car then left the east side of the road, went into a drainage ditch, struck the ground and rolled several times.
The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with a broken neck and head lacerations.
