A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by an SUV in Warsaw Thursday night.

Police say the crash happened shortly before nine o’clock at Center Street and Prosperity Drive.

Investigators say a Cadillac Escalade driven by 20-year-old Jennifer Ortega was turning onto Prosperity Drive when it struck 52-year-old Jennifer Taylor, who was walking in the roadway.

Taylor was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital with head and hand injuries. Ortega was also transported to a local hospital after reporting that she felt ill.
