A South Bend man has been sentenced to 46 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
Shawn M. Chupp, 38, was sentenced Oct. 14 by U.S. District Judge Cristal C. Brisco. Prosecutors said Chupp possessed a handgun and threatened to use it during a domestic disturbance in March 2026.
After prison, Chupp must serve two years of supervised release.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated the case with assistance from the South Bend Police Department.
