Indiana State Police: Enjoy Super Bowl 50 but don't drive drunk

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — Indiana State Police are reminding anyone who celebrates during the Super Bowl Sunday that they shouldn’t drink and drive.

The State Police said in a news release Thursday that 14 people were injured in the 740 traffic accidents that happened during Super Bowl weekend last year. Of those crashes, 45 were alcohol-related.

Police say people should plan before attending a Super Bowl party how they will get home. Anyone who sees a potentially drunk driver is also asked to call 911.

Officers will be conducting saturation patrols over the weekend.
