PLAINFIELD, Ind. (AP) — A mall in a suburban Indianapolis community has reopened following an online threat that prompted its evacuation.

Plainfield police Capt. Jill Lees says the Shops at Perry Crossing, about 15 miles west of downtown Indianapolis, reopened Saturday morning. She says additional police are at the outdoor mall as a precaution and the mall is “pretty packed” with shoppers.

Lees says the mall, including its theater where the new “Star Wars” movie is showing, was evacuated late Friday after Facebook postings threatened violence at the mall and specifically mentioned its JC Penney store.

She says those postings appear to have been made by the same person whose Facebook threats prompted the Plainfield and nearby Danville’s school districts to cancel Thursday’s classes. Lees says authorities are still trying to find that person.
