INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indiana Department of Transportation is asking the public to report signal timings and school-zone flashers that didn’t change over automatically with the change back to standard time.

Flashers that alert motorists entering school zones and traffic signals are timed using computerized controllers. The system allows traffic signals to use different patterns for periods of heavy traffic, such as the morning and evening commutes.

INDOT is working to confirm that the internal clocks in traffic signals and school-zone flashers changed over automatically, but is looking for ones that did not. INDOT urges drivers that find such problems to notify the INDOT district office in their regions.
