Donate food at your mailbox during Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive this weekend

Donating to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana is as easy as setting out some food by the mailbox this weekend.

Mail carriers will pick up donated items placed next to mailboxes in St. Joseph county on Saturday, May 14, as part of the national Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Suggested donations include non-perishable food, toiletries, cleaning supplies and pet food. Glass containers should not be included in the donations.

The donations should be outside in a sturdy bag by 8 a.m. St. Joseph County residents who receive their mail on Saturday but their donation wasn’t picked up can call 574-232-9986 ext. 149.

Donations can also be dropped off at the following locations:

  • Any post office retail counters in South Bend, Mishawaka or Granger
  • Food Bank of Northern Indiana, 702 Chapin St., South Bend
  • In orange collection barrels at Kroger and Martin’s Super Market stores in South Bend, Mishawaka and Granger
