Riley High School, Studebaker Elementary School and Monroe Primary Center were placed on lockout status for part of Thursday morning, Nov. 5, while police were responding to an incident involving two victims.

Police were approached by two victims about an undisclosed situation, WSBT reported. The victims refused medical treatment at the scene. The case has been forwarded to St. Joseph County SVU.

Officers had their weapons drawn and were using K-9 units to search a wide perimeter near Fellows and Bowman streets, according to WSBT. Police later said that the large response was related to scanner traffic involving a conversation with one of the victims.

The three schools were placed on lockout status while police searched nearby, meaning nobody was allowed to enter or exit the buildings. It was lifted shortly after police ended their search.
