Advanced Centers for Cancer Care to open office in downtown South Bend

A new tenant is coming to the One Michiana Square building in downtown South Bend and will bring more than 100 new jobs there.

Advanced Centers for Cancer Care, which has offices across northern Indiana including in Mishawaka and Elkhart, has agreed to invest about $7 million into the building at 100 E. Wayne St., WSBT reported. The business will move about 20 current employees to that location and create about 110 by 2025 with the average wage of $25 per hour.

For its part, the city of South Bend will spend about $900,000 in tax increment finance (TIF) dollars to pay for equipment, Advanced Centers for Cancer Care is not allowed to request city tax abatements because of its contract with South Bend, WSBT reported.

The Advanced Centers for Cancer Care office in South Bend will it will provide management and advisement services to other healthcare providers to ensure they are in compliance with Affordable Care Act requirements.

One Michiana Square was once the home to Wells Fargo, which relocated to Eddy Street Commons in 2011. The five-story building sits at the corner of Michigan and Wayne streets and is listed for sale for $4.75 million by Cressy and Everett Real Estate.
