White Pigeon teen girl in critical condition after crash near Bonneyville Mill in Elkhart County

A 15-year-old White Pigeon, Mich., girl is in critical condition at Memorial Hospital in South Bend after she and a 16-year-old girl were hit by a vehicle while running near Bonneyville Mill in Elkhart County on Monday, Sept. 28.

The two girls, who are members of the White Pigeon High School cross-country team, were running on C.R. 8 east of C.R. 31 when they were hit by an SUV at about 4 p.m., according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners The Elkhart Truth.

The 15-year-old girl suffered head trauma and a fractured pelvis and was airlifted to Memorial, where she remains in critical condition, the Truth reported. The 16-year-old girl was treated for a broken arm at Elkhart General Hospital.

The crash is under investigation.
