Female bicyclist killed after being struck by vehicle in Berrien County

A female bicyclist was killed when she was hit by a vehicle near Three Oaks, Mich., on Monday afternoon.

Officers were called to the area of Warren Woods near Mill Road at about 3:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, for the crash.

A vehicle was traveling east on Warren Woods when it struck the female bicyclist near Mill Road, according to a news release from the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.

The driver of the vehicle, Derek Allen Loraff, 38, of Three Oaks was arrested on alcohol-related charges, according to the news release.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of family.

The crash is still under investigation.
