Target shooter's stray bullet hits Elkhart County man in the arm

NEW PARIS, Ind. (AP) — Police in northern Indiana say a man standing outside his garage was hit in the arm by a stray bullet shot by a nearby target shooter.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department says the 34-year-old man was taken to a Goshen hospital after being wounded Friday evening at his home in the community of New Paris.

The department says someone target shooting at a nearby home fired the shot that hit the man in the upper arm.

Capt. James Bradberry says no arrests were immediately made but that the department is continuing to investigate what happened.
