Food Bank of Elkhart County to close in July

The Food Bank of Elkhart County will close its doors July 24.

The agency is closing because of a business decision by its parent agency, the Food Bank of Northern Indianaaccording to 95.3 MNC’s news partners ABC 57.

The Food Bank of Elkhart County is located at Church Community Services in Elkhart and serves 57 other nearby organizations, supplying them with produce and other food at a discounted rate. Its given more than 2 million pounds of food to kitchens and food pantries in Elkhart County.

After July 24, organizations like Susanna’s Kitchen and Faith Mission will have to go elsewhere for food and may now have to go to the Food Bank of South Bend.
